Continuing to explore ways to add movement to my paintings led me to these Springboards. Pieces of the pictures are mounted on small metal springs, giving them not only an elevated relief, but also a springy, silly movement when “activated” by an external force. If indoors, this force could be a hand-held rod with a feather at the tip brushing against the painting, while outside it might be a breeze; The Springboards may come to life by either humans or nature.
