Tattoos

  • Continuing to explore the notion of seeing my artwork in different environments, I imagined my pieces as tattoos on the human body. As with the graffiti series, I decided to go virtual with this idea for obvious reasons. I vacillated between taking photos of real human surfaces and trying out the somewhat new technology of AI-generated flesh canvases. I opted for the AI bodies because at the time, the generated images were imperfect in aesthetically interesting ways, a feature/bug that seems to be rapidly vanishing as the technology gets better. After many text prompt attempts, the generated chests, necks, and arms provided just the right surfaces for my tattoo art.
