Having explored various settings for my artwork to appear in outside of the screen/canvas, I began to think about time. In what circumstances could my art have existed in the past? And would this past even have to be real? This notion led me to create people, places, and things from an alternate history that featured my art in an oblique context. AI technology proved to be especially suited for this journey, as it generated a vaguely familiar yet off-kilter Victorian world based on my many iterated prompts. I purposefully kept these backgrounds in a sepia tone to accentuate the artwork displayed. The resulting series of images was more than satisfying to me, evoking a world where these abstract artworks played some sort of role and importance in the lives of these fictitiously forgotten people.
