Graffiti - Rome

  • A follow-up to the Graffiti - New York series, these photos originated mostly from the Trastevere neighborhood of Rome, Italy. The prolific real-life graffiti of that neighborhood inspired me to take pictures of mostly blank walls and surfaces onto which I could paint my own virtual graffiti. In all cases, there was something in the photos (a person, existing graffiti, signage, etc.) that added context to the final composited image. Although virtual, I’m fond of imagining the paintings actually there and mingling with the Italian environment.
